I actually met the girl in question, whose name was, I think Sophie Neville, at a hotel in the Cotswolds, near Chipping Norton in the early to mid 1980s. She was a production assistant with the BBC working on the zoo vet series One by One. I remember her particularly, not just because of the S & A connection, but because her mother turned up as well and they had a tame otter with them.
I've had no contact at all with her from that day to this, but your question prompted this recollection.
