Stalky and Co are the English schoolboys of Rudyard Kipling's youth. (He is the character Beetle) There's a book, and also some stories in some of RK's other collections. They were my introduction to the English school story.

You might also try PG Wodehouse's school stories- they were some of his earliest work. Tales from St. Austin's, A Prefect's Uncle, Mike and Psmith- lots to enjoy.
