Peter:

What was the colour of the door on your grandparent's houses?

If you know this information from experience and you are not dead then it is obvious and easy to get an answer. Let us say you die and I have to find out that information - it can take a lot longer and cost a lot of money to find out that information. We would be left with photographs, writings and archeology.

AR did not gives all the facts and knowledge about the house or other things. You know more about his meanings than I do, because you were brought up in England and near the Lake District. What is obvious to you, is double Dutch to me.

In sharing this knowledge on the board we all learn. Some more than others.

There is a crook barn near Windermere. Has anyone ever seen it?

I hope this makes the meaning clear - as mud.

JMN
