Jeremy - thanks for your interest, and also all the other contributors to this thread (well, nearly all). Actually, I agree 100% with everything you say! In my original posting I was making a different point altogether, which you allude to in your final sentence.

It's a bit like being a parent and being faced with your kids who want to do something that they think will be 'fun'. You know that they will do it anyway, so it's no use forbidding them. All you can do is warn that there might, might, be a price to pay. Like as not, they will be perfectly OK, but there is always the odd child who could suffer. Well, that's life, but the besetting sin of AR addicts, in my opinion, is complacency. Someone warned in a recent thread that the Gulf Stream might 'switch off' suddenly, soon, plunging the UK into the Arctic. That puts all this 'Beckettfoot' business into perspective, doesn't it?
