Trains aren't off topic at all. A few years ago TARS published a book AR's Railways by David Carter, one of the founder members. In fact, it got a mention here only a few weeks ago. David went to the National Railway Museum in York, and looked up the timetables of the 1930s.
Unfortunately we misjudged the demand, and it's already out of print.
