I'm building the 8 foot Nutshell pram designed by Joel White (EB White's son). After building my last boat out of plywood, I swore never to do so again, but here I am building another boat from the loathsome stuff. It is handy, though, and makes for a strong, light, low-maintenance boat.

I built a peapod (John Gardner design) while in high school. It is indeed a fun boat to build and a wonderful boat to own. It rows and sails very well. I sailed her without a rudder or centerboard. It was fun, but would have been a better sailing boat, naturally, with either of those two things - esp. the centerboard. Unfortunately, it is now almost 25 years old and not really in useful condition.
