I think that the appreciation of Susan is probably a more mature trait. Those of us still reading the stories with
children probably pick up on their lack of interest in her. My eight year old loves Nancy and Titty, but said of Susan
all she does is the cooking etc. For a child these sorts of things just happen. For an adult,we know the work and effort and
planning involved and Susan's success is more apparent and important.
Susan in love, now there is a thought! Teens were much less precocious in those days!
