I am glad Alan included that 'etc' ! You can't really compare numbers of non-UK Tarboarders with numbers of non-UK TARS members - they do not necessarily coincide. Nor, for that matter, do the corresponding numbers of UK residents. A sizeable proportion of Tarboard contributors are not TARS members. So that when Alan says 'UK members are less willing to get involved with Internet forums' perhaps he meant 'UK AR-lovers are less willing to get involved with Internet forums'.

I find that many TARS members are still under the mistaken impression that Tarboard is a 'TARS Chatsite'. It is not. In the article in 'Mixed Moss' containing Tarboard material (which Alan refers to - Winter 2003, p 38), it did not unfortunately make this fact clear. (BTW, I was not the Editor, well-known or otherwise!)
