Now, as far as "shut up" goes. I never really noticed it.I read my first AR in around 1973 and have read them hundreds of times. I never noticed it at all, until my wife read them for the first time last year (case of if you cant beat them , join them) and she said, they say shut up a lot.
Kids always say shut up nowdays...I didnt think it strange. What i think is strange is there isnt more joking and foolery in the stories...Roger aside and even he is tame by lads aged 7 and up.
