I fancy that a motor launch on the Lake at this time would be more likely to be petrol driven than diesel.

I'm very comfortable with Laurence's statement. I got a bit carried away with the conversion of the Salters Steamers to diesel. Early petrol engines 'chugged'. Crossley's launch was steam powered and it was 'converted' to petrol driven either by Crossley or by AR's imagination.
