I must admit, I thought that was the idea too. So here is a relevant contribution:
I never get tired of re-reading all the S & A books (although there might be months in between a complete cycle) and have just started We didn't.. In my copy there is an illustration of Miss Powell's dining room, and on the wall there a picture in nautical style - but it occurs to me for the first time (I have had the book since it was issued in 1948) the fine clipper in the picture looks as if it is sinking!
Why have I only just noticed this? You don't think it's because the books are now sharing a shelf with Harry Potter's?
