Reality is a harsh mistress, but we correspond with people we never meet and so perhaps we are just taking the AR characters to the dimension of long lost cousins who write occasionally. We know them well but we have never met them.
I bet the GA has a copy of the Pearl in a top drawer of her bedside table.
