Peter, I thoroughly agree with your asssessment of The Best of Childhood as one of the best books about AR that there is. An absolute treasure. The title never bothered me, as it happens - I always figured it was referring to AR's books - which indeed are some of the best of childhood. Or even adulthood or pensionerhood, for my part.
