I'll stick this in here -- I have a little book published in 1918 - "Steam Wagon Manual - How to get the best out of all types of steam road vehicles" - mostly covering maintanence of "steam wagons". I purchased this in London in 1959 for one shilling. There is an ad in the back for the " 'Leyland' F-2 'After the War' " Steam Wagon with picture. A rather unweildly looking contraption - half truck and half locomotive with huge smokestack in front - "Water-tube boiler, superheated steam, economizer, rubber-tyred wheels. Speed 8 m.p.h., load 6 tons, and with trailer 10 tons." It must have taken at least two or more hefty men just to operate this machine!

If someone with more computer knowhow than I have would like to post it, I can email it as an attachment to them. I found Jock's "the easy way" to post from last December, but this would be an attachment, not a link.

I would imagine that a steam powered lawnmower would be quite the machine, probably beyond the mechanical abilities of Mrs. Blackett and Nancy or Peggy, although I would imagine Nancy would attempt to try it out! I'm sure Roger would definitly be interested.
