I have been in contact with Peter Willis, of the Nancy Blackett Trust. While agreeing with the value of "saving Peter Duck", he raised two important points.
Those involved in the Nancy Blackett are fully stretched. He doubts the wisdom of diluting the energies needed to keep Nancy going.
The second point is that buying Peter Duck would alter the focus of the Trust (and I would add of TARS, too).
To take the second point first, I can't help feeling that Peter Duck is a natural extension in a direction in which TARS is going anyway. The Nancy B has already proved her "advertising" worth - and the youngsters polishing brasses surely evokes exactly what it's all about.
The first point is more serious. There's no sense in attempting to buy Peter Duck unless there's ground level enthusiasm. The major investment of time, but also a good proportion of the reward, would probably fall to the East Anglian region.
Can I suggest that for the moment, anyone able and willing to help contact me at: mcregeen@yahoo.com; or put your offer on the board as an encouagement to others. We need to raise 25,000 pounds in the first instance.
