I read Mrs. Wilder's books when I was eight or nine and can't remember the order I read them. If one is ever in Southern Missouri, be sure and stop at her home which is very beautifully preserved as a museum just East of Mansfield, Missouri on old highway 60 (closed from November through April or so). When I was ten, I went by there every two weeks on the bus to Springfield not knowing at the time I was going by her house. She would have been still very much alive and well then (1946-7).
