While walking from Bank Ground Farm to Coniston. I was surprised by a noise just as I passed the Waterhead Hotel. It turned out to be Ospreys in the woods behind the hotel. I stood still for several minutes but never got a clear view.
Has anybody else seen or heard them, or were they just passing through. I have been up to the lakes for almost ten years and this is the first time I've seen or heard anything like this before.
