OED:

PR - The OED is never out of date, you can search it at all times and one can submit words. It may be years behind in entering the words, but English changes every day in some elements and never at all in others.

The our etc debate in the USA was started by Webster who predates the OED so one can not say it is correct or incorrect merely the word some use. A bit like the difference between tarn and pond.

English is wonderful because it is flexible and bloody horrible for the same reason.
