POHM or POM stands for Prisoner of His/Her Majesty. Stems from the start of the NSW prison system in the 1780's.

There is of course a thermodynamic side to the debate on the amount of milk added and whether it is added first or second. Personally one drinks Lapsong Souchong and adds a small amount of milk (second) and no sugar and one has a decent cup of tea. Of course Irish Breakfast Tea is ok, but only if it rainy, Sunday and reading a paper, otherwise it is LS only.

Boiling eggs in the tea pot is likely to lead to Salmonella poisoning and Susan was correct to avoid this practice.

In terms of Coffee - instant with the jug just off the boil is perfect, I find the brewed stuff goes down like English Breakfast Tea on Monday mornings, I mean Monday mornings are bad enough without ruining them entirely.

One should only drink tea in fine china cups indoors and old Army mugs (enamaled outdoors).

Of course I am not a snob, merely a reverse snob as my old Mum used to say.
