There was a BBC TV programme about this, fronted by Griff Rhys-Jones, last year. Roland appeared on it, and Ted Alexander (of the TARS Stall) got a credit, having supplied a lot of the research.
Roland was writing the book last winter with a view to publication in early 2007. I hadn't heard it was ahead of schedule. He has offered to speak about it at the TARS Literary Weekend, which will probably take place in September 2007.
