You could try 'visitcumbria.com/ransome' which seems to me to be concise and accurate.
Googling 'Arthur Ransome' gives quite a range of entries.
But if you want something a bit longer, then looking at my shelves of AR related material I have to say that there doesn't seem to be anything combining brevity and comprehensiveness. Perhaps this is an opening waiting for somebody to fill, although to do justice to such a complex person wouldn't be too easy.
