As far as I know, the Coniston launch does not land on Peel Island, but you can hire an electric launch or a Wayfarer sailing dinghy from Coniston and make your own way there.

Climb Coniston Old Man (Kanchenjunga). Visit Ransome's grave in Rusland church. Visit the Abbott's Hall museum in Kendal to see Ransome's desk and some of his belongings in their Ransome Room.
I found the Dog's Home, you go to the Machell Plantation just south ofBrantwood and Bank Ground and then find a path on the south end of the car park and make your way up. Its there but the instructions I read weren't clear and we had to wander around a bit until we found it.
