John and I knew that we'd get some response from the 'trainspotters'! Being a standing lug rig, the sail shape sets the gaff angle, and the halyard is secured to the weather gunwale to replace a shroud that isn't otherwise there.
Incorporation is a legal device used in Australia to allow clubs and societies to run without their executive members being personally liable for other people's misfortunes and mistakes. In the UK you have to form a company, I believe, but we don't. It is a simple, inexpensive process tailored for the use by club secretaries.
