10 out of 10 for mentioning Secret Water. One of the few places where "the hand of progress" has left nearly everything unscathed and well worth recommending to Ross. There are also boat trips that explore the Walton backwaters.
Hasten slowly, Ross, Don't rush along the dual carriageway trunk roads, buy the large scale Ordnance Survey maps of the area and, with their help, take the 'by-roads' and pause to savour the many thatched cottages, tidal creeks and village hostelries on the way.
