I would also add appeals by some obscure (often Nigerian) family who need help to get funds out of their country, or otherwise a significant win in a lottery you have never heard of. All they need to give you loads of money is your bank details...
My own server has a spam address you can send stuff to where they put the address on a blacklist. Trouble is, they change addresses more often than adolescents change their minds!
