You could try to locate the site of Ransome's death. He died in the then Cheadle Royal Hospital, about 7 miles south of central Manchester. The location is still known as Cheadle Royal, though as far as I know there isn't a hospital there any more - just suburban office blocks, supermarkets and road junctions. Not even a blue plaque, as far as I'm aware.
