Welcome! The world NEEDS more eccentric people! One of the joys of the Ransome books is the wide range of personalities and how they interact and achieve reletive harmony. In my own situation, I have finally found an environment that is rather "eccentric" and am loving it. My little town is the center of "outsider" art in Kansas and possibly in the USofA.

I was lucky to have read all the books pretty much in order (I think that was how they were placed on the Jr. High School library shelf in Enid, Oklahoma). And then (late '40's), I just kept everything to myself as to be "bookish" and have imaginary adventures (day dreaming) was not approved of by my peers or the school. The series influenced a lot of things in my life at that time - camping, Great Britain, sailing, and all those good things the books advocated - and up to now is still influencing my eccentricities! I would say Captain Flint was a Classic Eccentric!

And Titty is still probably my favorite character with Nancy and Dorothy coming in real close!

PS - Thanks, Jock, for putting my TV spot on TarBoard!
