When I first read the 12, many years ago, ML,BS & GN were my least favourite (if there is such a phrase).
Later reading has revised my views on both ML and GN. BS still remains a book that I will reread with minimal pleasue.
Although in BS there are brilliant passages such as the eelman and his bucks, overall it does remain a detective story where the villian(s) are revealed early on.
For me ML and GN have aged well.
