Jock - Very fair point! However, some of AR's early work is not easy to find, and not really all that good.

I agree Peter. I'm not sure where to draw the line, any ideas? There is a sizeable body of mature work - both Racundras; Russian folk tales; some of the published short stories; book introductions; particularly The Mariner's Library; material published posthumously - that deserves to be better known and that will amply repay careful study.
