I think you have pinpointed it perfectly. One of the several disappointments to me in the video version of The Big Six ( whatever it's erroneously titled) is the portrayal of Dick as a much less "powerful" character than that depicted (sorry) by AR. Dick isn't a small, wimpy and colorless younger brother. He's the scientist with the answers, the latter day witch doctor if you like, whose knowledge and confidence in his knowledge, drives a lot of the action in the books he is in.It's derpressing that the scriptwriter(s) completely failed to grasp this.
