If people do have so much on that they find it hard to read all the 12 books, then why not approach some of them through Gabriel Woolf's audio tapes?

We find that they help to pass the time delightfully on a long car journey.

They do vary a bit - the earliest were abridged for broadcasting and WD in particular misses out what I feel are key elements - such as why John was so neurotic about asking for help - the fear of a salvage claim. On the other hand PD and ML - which in common with many of us are my least favourites - actually come out extremely well when read to you.

I can't wait to hear him reading GN - perhaps once again I will find that it shines more when he reads it than when I read it to myself.
