I agree with the realism of AR's use of weather--it is one feature that helps make the stories feel as if they really happened. My family and I have also experienced some of the weather AR describes, in the settings for the books--pouring rain, steady drizzle, morning fog, cool sunshine and dog-days heat in the Lakes District, plus a goregously sunny and lightly breezy day on the Broads. We would love to experience a snowy, icy winter at Coniston some year....
