Interesting subject - an old friend in Chicago used to do "art forgeries" - she did an excellent "Rembrandt" and "Piccasso" . She sold them as fakes - even did all the materials correctly, but said she had seen some of her work come up on the market as the real thing. I had a man come in my shop here in Lucas, Kansas that has one of her "Rembrandts" on his office wall in Chicago.
The Fake Art business is alive and well - just KNOW exactly what you are buying!
