Given the little we have go to go on (by which I mean evidence that AR supplies us with), such as the Blacketts had a large house, with stables, in a prime position with a boathouse. They also have a cook; the doctor is called without a thought for cost and relatives (I have the GA in mind) who are clearly wealthy.
Captain Flint obviously has independent means as he travels, has a houseboat full of valuable items, but we are given no indication of exactly what it is he does.
Father - this is a tricky one, obviously dead as by the way he is talked about yet... in a couple of place Peggy and Nancy talk about how their mother would react if father was mentioned. It does all point WWI, but here AR gives us almost nothing to go on.
As someone mentioned on another thread the absent father is a constant, not only through death but work. Those that are around are nearly always busy and not available. But I digress from class!
To me the little evidence we have points to the Blacketts to being at least upper middle class, however you want to order it.
