Tonight while watching ER (a very popular medical drama series in the US) I swear Arthur Ransome got worked in. A mother in the waiting room of the E.R.(emergency room) was interrupted by a nurse as she read something like "..and with a better wind Swallow flew towards the island" to her sick son. The book she closed up and put away looked like the most recent paperback releases.
Was I hallucinating, or is there a Ransome fan lurking in the production team of ER? And what exactly was the mother reading?
