I suspect this is an adult perspective. I started (very young) with "The Big Six" - the latest to come out - then "Pigeon Post" and others in a fairly random order. SA itself came fairly late.
I don't remember having any difficulty in resolving loose ends. At that age, you just let them stay loose.
