I think in SA where John says the two guiding marks for the secret harbour are like “Leading Lights”, the Amazons do not know what he means. That happens after the parley.
And from SA, the Amazons were only given Amazon by CF last year, and used to come to the island in the rowing boat before then. So they have not been sailing long. John learnt to sail in Falmouth Harbour years ago, although the Walkers have only just got Swallow for their holiday in the Lakes.
