I have always read the books in the order listed on the back of the dust
jacket. Since each is great in its own way, that order isn't nescessary. Still
from the comments such as Coot Club before Big Six etc. I think it
helps.
I like, each year to start from Swallows and Amazon and read through to
then end. I am able to treat it then as a many thousand page story, and
get all the meaning I can.
