There has always been a thin dividing line between improved natural navigations and canals. Unless you know some of the history, it is difficult sometimes to know which are which.
Unfortunately I have lent my copy of that interesting book "London's Lost Rivers" to a friend, otherwise I might be able to give a little more information on what appears to be a navigable creek.
