I had noticed the apostrophe in an earlier post. I don't have the books handy so I'm not sure if they actually have "Ds" or "D's" - Anyone tell me?

If the apostrophe is present then certainly it doesn't mean possessive BUT it could mean that something has been left out as in "it's" and "don't" where "i" and "o" have been omitted.

So, with "D's" the apostrophe could mean that "ick" and "orothea" have been dropped. I don't think I believe this though - more likely "Dick and Dorothea" -> "D and D" -> "Ds" and the "s" is just simply a plural.
