That Ransomish view is worth walking; it's deserted for the most part and really gives a sense of what the Lakes must have been like in AR's time. I have said this before, but the difference between the eastern and western shores of Windermere is phenomenal. Drive up the eastern shore, by all means (well, not so much drive as crawl along in first gear), but walk the western shore in glorious isolation.
