I worked for several years in central Beijing. The summers are notably hot - the climate is "continental" and the temperature will go from +40C in midsummer to -15C in midwinter.
All my colleagues were Chinese, and in high summer we were in the habit, at coffee break type moments, of despatching someone across the road to the nearest ice cream kiosk to come back with ice creams.
They were Walls Vanilla Ice Cream.
