Dear all,
Back when the S & A series was coming out for the first time a group of young admirers wrote their own novel in loving imitation of the Arthur Ransome approach. They illustrated it themselves too I think a la Ransome. I believe it was about a group of children who go horse-riding. They sent the manuscript to Ransome, who loved it, corresponded with them on a second draft, and eventually wrote a preface for the book when it was published - by his publisher I believe.
Does anyone know what the title of this book is? Author, publisher, etc? How to get hold of it?
I remember someone gave it to me when I was young and in love with all things S & A (still am of course, though no longer quite so young.) Any help tracking this book down would be received with gratitude. Can't quite figure out how to search for it on Google without title etc.
Cheerio,
Vanessa
