Hmmm....that's Roger at work. Young, male,impish, most often in trouble throughout the whole series (although Gibber may top Roger by the end!). And it's Roger without an older sibling in charge. John & Susan would not have let him break that rule if they had been there. Now, from Susan's point of view, SHE came closest to breaking a rule that time--not "making sure the two younger ones went to bed at a proper time" (SA?)

What might Roger have been like as an older child? Would he have learned the same responsiblity as John? Titty tries to stand in for Susan from time to time--when she decides what to do about Roger's sprained ankle, for example. Does Roger look up to John in the same way?
