I think in most cases listening is more appropriate, To my mind lurking sounds more devious.
I listen or read to lots of the topics on this board, without always commenting on them.
Some because they do not stir me enough to post, others because being in a differant time zone and only having time to check the board maybe a couple of times a day, I find what I have to say has already been said.
I am surprised at the number of registered would be participants, obviously there is a lot who do just listen.
They may also only look in occasionally or not at all.
Hopefully they don't find it boring.
