English boarding school holidays used to run as follows (depending a bit on the calendar
and the individual school, not all of the holidays started on the same date).

Winter: End of second or third week of December to second week of January
(duration of 3-4 weeks)
Spring: Last week of March to third week of April (depending on the date of Easter)
(duration of about 4 weeks)
Summer: Third week of July to end of second or third week of September
(duration of 7-8 weeks)

So Swallows and Amazons, Swallowdale, Pigeon Post, We Didn't Mean to Go to Sea,
The Big Six, Secret Water and The Picts and Martyrs would all be at various times
in the summer holiday period. Big Six and Secret Water in September, Picts and Martyrs
at the start of the holiday.

Coot Club is a spring book, as probably should be Great Northern?

Winter Holiday is obvious and Peter Duck and Missee Lee, being stories within
the stories don't really have a particular time of year, though Chinese New Year
when they do the Dragon Dance is in February, I believe.
