The 1993 Literary Weekend included a talk on "The Holiday Adventure Story - After Ransome" given by Sheila Ray, editor of "School Librarian". Unfortunately the 1993 transcript of the speeches is now out of print at the TARS Stall, but I have a copy and the speech includes several of the authors already mentioned, as well as one of my "other" favourites, William Mayne ("A Grass Rope", "A Swarm in May").
