Remember the book and movie "The Ugly American" which came out in the '50's? I think every culture has a group and, unfortunately, they are still alive and well(?). I remember seeing quite a few "Ugly _____"s (fill in the blank) of various nationalities during the three years I was in Europe - most likely the sons and daughters of the Hullabaloos. We were always told that we were "ambassadors" of our country and culture and should behave to foster good will and leave positive impressions of Americans. We were the foreigners, NOT the natives of the country we were guests.
