Howdy all. I gave myself and the rest of you a rest from each other for a few months (when I got a bit tired with debates over whether Tarboard should be used for debates on minutiae that come from the 12 but may not relate to the themes, plots, characters or to AR and his life and enthusiasms).
I have started to read Tarboard again recently and now it is time to tell you something interesting!
A month or so ago, I started to watch my video of the 1974 SA film. My 3 year old son, Robert, started to look at it with me. He now turns it on in preference to the Wiggles and Bananas in Pyjamas. It seems to be playing all the time...It drives my wife slightly mad, so for Christmas I will give them the DVD (the TV which plays DVDs is downstairs and will be quieter for her).
Robert and his 18-month sister Anna now know all the names of the characters and sing 'Spanish Ladies' and 'What shall we do with a drunken sailor' along with the film. Also, I am under pressure to build a dinghy for them so that they can go to islands..... (BTW whatever happened to John Nicholls' MaryAnn project?)
