Well Dorothea does muse quite a bit about the S & A's but I agree that they aren't in sight.
It's nice to meet, however virtually, someone who likes A R and sails a 24ft boat on the rather uninteresting waters of the western end of Lake Ontario. For several years, 1968 - 1980 I sailed a "shark" also 24 ft on these same waters, inspired by the A R books.
My eagerness to "push these books down the throats" of my non sailing daughters finally led to a father's day gift in 1985 of being allowed to read them as bedtime stories. I didn't have to send for a doctor after the first hundred pages. Indeed in 1988 we hired
the Jasmine (a Teasel clone) out if Horning and had a wonderful week on cruising to Ranworth, Potter, Horsey etc. The next week we rowed from the village of Coniston to Peel Island to see the secret harbour but I wore them and myself out trying to find Swallowdale.
See you on the Tarboard!
(I tried to e-mail this to Adam but was unsucessful. Maybe some kind Tarboarder can help?)
